Waving forward folds
Forward folds can be a challenge for many people, especially if you sit for long hours every day. The back of the body gets tight and weak at the same time. When we attempt forward bending we can put strain on the vertebrae or even on the tendons in the joints. But when we work with waving the spine, we create not only heat but an engaging and releasing action between the muscles in the front and the back of the spine so they work simultaneously. This also creates a massage-like action for the whole back line of the body, down through the hamstrings to the feet and up to the neck and the head. This way the connective tissue can release and find length, and at the same time, generate strength. In this forward bending based class, Julie will have you waving in and out of structures, finding length and power all at the same time.
