Tashi Dawa

Tashi is a KPJAYI Authorised level 2 Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher whose objective is to lead each student to develop and adore their daily yoga self-practice.

“I recognise things can sometimes get a little serious so I love to integrate a little bit of investigation, experimentation and play” ~ Tashi Dawa

Travelling annually to Mysore India to study yoga since 2005, Tashi continues to deepen her practice at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in Mysore with Sharat Jois. She’s been a practitioner of yoga since she was in her teens and has had the opportunity to study with many wonderful teachers around the world including Manju Jois, Godfrey Devereux, Simon Borg-Oliver, John Ogilvie, Kristina Karitinou, Eddie Stern, Mark & Joanna Darby and many others.

Tashi has travelled throughout her life. She has lived and worked all over Australia, South Pacific Islands, Asia & Europe. With a background in theatre, she has also managed art, dance & community projects.

She has a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Community Development from Melbourne University. She was given her lovely name by her parents who were followers of Lama Yeshe in the 1970’s. ‘Tashi Dawa’ translates as ‘Auspicious Moon’ in Tibetan.
