Welcome to the first class of my program, Dealing with Difficult Emotions. In this class we explore the difference between fear caused by genuine, immediate threat, and a general, low-grade simmering sense of fear caused by, for example, worldly events or underlying worries. We then look at how these could be soothed, what may help us feel empowered towards the situation, and how we can help down-regulate our nervous system. We’ll also practice a grounding and reflective meditation to help us feel calmer and more centered.
