Enjoy a mini home yoga retreat with Esther Ekhart - created especially for the holiday season.
We know it can be difficult during one of the busiest times of the year to create some space for yourself. However, taking a little time to breathe, move and meditate may be just about the best present you can give yourself (and others) during the holiday period when expectations run high and energy reserves are low!
This day of yoga, meditation, mixed movement, and breathing is designed to help you take a step back from the busyness, reconnect with your breath and body, and remind yourself of what is truly important.
Have all your props handy - blocks, blankets and cushions - and if you find it uncomfortable sitting on the floor, you might like to have a chair to sit on or a wall to lean against. Besides your yoga mat and comfortable clothes, have another warmer layer and socks handy for the longer Yin class.
Try taking a complete day off from social media and news updates and let your family and friends know you’ll be offline. Switch your phone to flight mode and turn off any notifications that may distract you during class.
It's also helpful to clear your yoga space so that you’re not surrounded by clutter or other distractions. If you’re practicing in the same room as your work desk, perhaps you can cover it with a blanket. You might also like to light some candles or incense to create a calm atmosphere.
We know it's a busy time of year, and you might have things you need to do between classes. If you can, try to approach these mindfully, so that you're taking your yoga off the mat too! Alternatively, giving yourself a warm oil massage, drawing, reading a book, sitting doing nothing, or sleeping are all encouraged!
Is there someone in your life who might benefit from this retreat? Why not get them an EkhartYoga gift card (which gives them access to this and all of the other programs and classes on EkhartYoga) so you can share the experience.
We wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season. ❤️
