Looking at preparing the body and the mind for the King of the asana: Sirsasana (Headstand). I offer a few preparatory postures to work on opening the back, engaging the core and preparing the shoulders for the flexion required in Headstand. You will need to be near a wall to practice the Forearm Downward Facing Dog. Please DO NOT practice the full Headstand unless you are proficient with it; the best way to learn this complex posture is to work with a teacher who can guide you step by step. Remember that Child's pose is essential to rebalance the body and to decompress neck and upper back. Never skip this posture after Headstand.
