Do you want to learn how certain poses can be practiced in different ways while still stimulating the area you want to target? Then this Yin class - a preview for my online Yin Teacher Training available now - is for you. Different options are given for each pose, so you can adapt them to your needs.
Using Nadi Shodana (basic pattern), you can balance and clear the Yin & Yang energies of the body which calms your mind, emotions, and releases accumulated tensions and fatigue. The left nostril Ida (Yin) is connected to the left side of the body and the right brain; governing parasympathetic nervous system (rest-digest). The right nostril Pingala (Yang) is connected to the right side of the body and the left brain; governing the sympathetic nervous system (fight-flight).
Physically you stimulate, open up and release tension in your body by practicing various reclined twists in order for you to discover which twist does wonders for you. Twisting can have a releasing effect, so if you feel strong emotions come up, let them out - it can be very healing. This session starts with meditation and Pranayama and finishes with Savasana and meditation. It will leave you feeling energetic, detoxified and opened up at the same time.
