Although this Hatha yoga practice massages the spine, it’s also an opportunity to soften and strengthen the central axis of the body through movement. We will begin with David’s favourite, rolling of the joints. From there, some table top and seated spinal moves lead us into a mini-sequence of three poses put together in flow. These poses – twist, reverse warrior and side angle – are repeated using three different leg variations, which focuses our attention on different parts of the spine each time. We will finish with a short release on the floor and Savasana. This longer practice has a slower, gradual start and if you’re short on time, you might choose just to practice the first 45 minutes.
