Metal and fire
Metal and fire
This is a preview. Start your 2-week free trial or subscribe to enjoy full access to EkhartYoga.
A Yin yoga practice for the upper body meridians to help liberate your Qi (chi). The meridians of the fire and metal elements in Chinese medicine move through your fingers, hands, arms and through the upper body/head/face. These parts of the body are often neglected in Yin yoga so this practice focuses on moving Qi through all of these meridians. We begin with Finger Fans pranayama (definitely a must try if you don't know this one). We then stretch the fascia in the neck, and follow with asanas that require you to use your arms/shoulders. Suitable for all levels as long as there are no shoulder injuries.
Props: Have a bolster (or a cushion) and a couple of blocks near you in case you need them.
