Often in the Guru-student relationship surrender is confused with submission. There is benefit and merit to be found in trusting the spiritual teacher profoundly and to be willing to let go of the known, offer oneself into the fire of existence beyond time, but never at the expense of one's own inner compass. This was a lesson Harry learned the hard way.
