Do you have a lack of motivation? Has spending a lot of time on screen made your eyes tired? Then this Yin class is for you. This session will detox your body (Liver and Gallbladder Meridians) and clear your mind so that new plans and ideas can arise to give you a fresh perspective and bring chi back to your eyesight. The eyes are connected to the Wood energy, according to the 5 Elment theory - having a clear vision of where you want to go or want to do - and spending a lot of time on screens can cause us to lose energy/chi through the eyes. We will therefore strengthen the eyes with some eye exercises.
Using Yin yoga poses and Pranayama we will also stimulate the liver and gallbladder organs and meridians, as well as the Wood elemental energy associated with these meridians. The poses will target the Liver (the inner thighs and lateral side of the torso) and Gallbladder (the bum and hip area and side of the torso and the neck).
Releasing tension in these areas may alleviate or even trigger frustration and irritation. Allow those emotions to come up and approach them with patience and compassion. Allow the energy to flow through you so that you clear yourself out - leaving space for new ideas and energy. Everyone can benefit from this class as different options are given for each pose.
Props needed: belt, blanket, blocks, bolster and/or pillow.
