This restorative yoga sequence is here to support you in breathing deeply, fully and with ease. The poses all focus on the diaphragm region and are designed to help you drop deeply into yourself. Restorative yoga is very prop intensive and for this class you will need a bolster, blanket and belt at least… Bring along everything you have and a few extra blankets and pillows for guaranteed comfort. Along the way, David picks up the guitar and serenades you while you breathe in the following shapes:
Diaphragm Separation (Lying on the back over a bolster at just at the bottom of the ribs and the head supported)
Supported Down Dog (with the top of the head supported by block or bolster)
Reclined Leg in the Air (use a long, looped belt placed under the shoulder blades with one leg held in the loop - see class thumbnail)
Reclined Twist (with the ‘twisted leg’ fully supported by a bolster)
Legs up the Wall (elevate the hips with a gap between the buttocks and the wall)
Belly down Supported (with blankets under the hip bones and front of the ankles lifted by a bolster)
