Viloma Pranayama, a very gentle restorative breathing practice, means "against the air". In practice this is done by interrupting the flow of air - it can be done on both the inhale (Viloma I) and the exhale (Viloma II). Viloma Pranayama helps to boost lung capacity and calm the body and mind. It also introduces the concept of expansion in the breath, since you have to pay close attention to finding space in the sides of the body. We practice a couple of restorative poses, so make sure you have your props - a couple of blocks, a bolster (or pillows) and a blanket - ready.
