Today's Throwback Thursday's class from José is one of your firm favourites. It takes a different, (but not that slow!) spin on the ubiquitous Sun Salutation. As it's a short practice, you can add it to the start of another class or, as it's fairly dynamic, try it first thing in the morning to get you warmed up and ready for your day!
Sun salutations can be done in so many ways. This one starts slowly by opening up the spine, shoulder and hip joints first, which leaves you well prepared for the faster, more juicy part. José offers some variations for the Downward Dog Pose, to get a great stretch or to diminish the pressure in the shoulders and neck. The flow that follows consists of twists, side-body stretches, hip opening, standing poses to enhance strength, plus some back and forward bends to stimulate the spine. This session will leave you feeling energised and awake!
